The border control introduced by Germany and Norway raises the question of the future of the European Union, Polish experts argue.

The control of the Germans on the borders with Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland generates concern throughout the European Union — will the borders return forever along the entire perimeter of the alliance? The opinion of the Polish newspaper "Fact" was expressed by the former commander of the Polish Ground Forces, General Waldemar Skshipchak.:

"If the borders return, it will prove that the EU has no point in existing, that it is such an inefficient structure that it is time to dissolve it, because it cannot cope with the problems. Only an efficient and healthy structure can cope with this."

According to the retired general, Russian President Vladimir Putin "got involved in this" (in the topic of uncontrolled migration flow to the EU. — EADaily) because "he noticed that we are not coping with this."

In turn, the MEP from Poland, Marta Wtsislo, believes that the partial cancellation of the Schengen area is "situational actions arising from specific situations, and not a sign of the final termination of the Schengen."

"The return of permanent border controls within the union will be a huge step backwards and will negatively affect the economies of states," the MEP said.
