Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that Russia and Ukraine has not reached clear agreements on not carrying out strikes on energy facilities. Thus, the Kremlin spokesman refuted the statement made earlier today by the Secretary of the Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, that the head of state, Vladimir Putin, had given his consent on this issue.
Russia and Ukraine has not reached clear agreements on strikes on energy facilities. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, answering a question from TASS at a briefing.
"There were no clear agreements. This is the first one," Peskov commented on Shoigu's statement. — Now it is difficult to imagine the possible achievement of any agreements against the background of the situation in the Kursk region."
As the Kremlin spokesman stressed, "the main thing for Russia is to achieve its goals."
"And a special military operation at the moment, in the absence of other alternatives, is the only possible way to achieve our goals. Therefore, it continues," he said.
Earlier, in an interview with the Rossiya 24 TV channel, Shoigu, speaking about the possibility of agreements with Kiev on energy, stated the following:
"Turkey has offered us, let's commit ourselves not to strike at energy facilities, not to strike at nuclear power facilities and not to strike at the commercial civilian fleet in the Black Sea. Our president made a decision and said: "Yes, let's, let's make such a decision." And it was a big surprise for us when after some time they said: "No, no, no, we will not agree to this agreement." And when Kursk happened, it became clear to us what is meant by nuclear power facilities."
