Law enforcement officers detained a taxi driver who raped a passenger in a car in the southwest of Moscow. This was announced today, September 2, by the press service of the GSU IC of Russia in the capital.
According to the agency, the crime occurred on September 1. The driver raped a girl in a car parked on Znamenskiye Sadki Street.
"A criminal case is being investigated on the grounds of crimes under part 1 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rape), part 2 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violent acts of a sexual nature). The person involved has been detained, he has been charged," the report said.
The man's involvement in the crime is confirmed by the case file. The investigation intends to petition the court to elect a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused. The driver faces up to 10 years in prison.
