Threats against Minsk are fraught with consequences for Kiev and its patrons. This was announced today, August 28, by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Zakharova commented on the "boorish statement" of Ukraine to Belarus, circulated earlier on the Internet.
"This is another boorish statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, it was published on August 25, now with threats of such an unbridled nature to Belarus and Belarusians demanding that they withdraw troops from the border with Ukraine to a distance, as was stated by the adherents of Kuleba (Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleb), exceeding the defeat of the systems available in Belarus fire," she said.
Zakharova recalled that in 2021 the military doctrine of the Union State of Russia and Belarus was updated, now the document provides for joint defense of the common borders of the union. In addition, she noted, a joint grouping of troops and tactical nuclear weapons are currently deployed in Belarus.
"In this regard, we would recommend the leadership of NATO and its leading member countries to cool down the ardor of their zealous wards capable of involving the alliance in a large—scale armed conflict," Maria Zakharova stressed.
Earlier, due to incessant provocations by Ukraine, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed to transfer additional army units to the southern borders of the republic. In response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued statements urging Minsk not to do rash things and withdraw parts from the border. Otherwise, Kiev promised to respond.
