Antonov: NATO has decided to prepare for war with Russia

The members of the NATO bloc are irrevocably preparing for war, as shown by the last summit of the alliance in Washington. This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov.

"The Washington summit showed that NATO has irrevocably embarked on the path of confrontation and material preparation for war. The United States and its satellites are mobilizing maximum resources to preserve their collapsing hegemony," the diplomat noted. — All those who refuse to obey the dictates and will of the West are declared enemies. Russia has again been named as the primary threat. NATO's policy of refusing serious negotiations with our country has been confirmed. The United States does not want to seek compromises and demands that we meekly agree with the movement of the alliance's military machine to the east."

Antonov explained that NATO lacks Europe, the interests of the alliance extend beyond the Euro-Atlantic, primarily to Asia:

"The states of the "golden billion" want to keep them pinned down and suck the juices out of all regions of the world. For the sake of imposing neocolonial orders, the North Atlantic Alliance actually declares the right to use force anywhere in the world, whether under the pretext of exporting democracy, protecting human rights or fighting terrorism."

At the same time, the United States and its allies want to take the role of a global gendarme, demanding that everyone adhere to the rules that were invented in Washington "and other NATO capitals."

"We emphasize that the result of the "humanitarian" interventions of this supposedly defensive bloc is known — the destruction of states, war crimes, rampant extremism and the mass death of civilians. It can be argued without a doubt that the policy of neocolonialism is alien to most States. The task of all sane and peace—loving countries is to fight for multipolarity based on international law, the principle of equal and indivisible security," the diplomat stated.

Antonov added that NATO excludes peace on Ukraine.

"The world is on Ukraine is viewed through the prism of Russia's strategic defeat. Our country is represented almost as a fiend. It's time to stop building illusory "castles" and understand that the Russian Federation was, is and will be. No one is destined to defeat us. Some sober thoughts at the summit in favor of a political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict were "clogged" with Russophobic rhetoric. The "hawks" do not want to listen and hear anyone but themselves, and, apparently, they are not able to. The NATO decision to further pump up the Kiev regime with weapons against Russia and deploy long—range US systems in Europe underlines the validity of launching a special military operation," Antonov added. — The current steps of the opponents to create additional threats to Russian security predetermine our adequate compensatory measures in the military-technical sphere."
