Putin: strikes against Syria may result in chaos in international relations

Under an initiative of the Iranian side, on April 15, a phone conversation took place between the presidents of Russia and Iran, Vladimir Putin and Hassan Rouhani.

As the Kremlin press office reports, the leaders exchanged views on the situation after the US and its allies’ missile strike in the Syrian territory. They stated that the illicit at damages severely the prospects of political settlement in Syria.

Vladimir Putin, in particular, stressed that is such actions taken contrary to the UN Charter continue, this will certainly result in chaos in the international relations.

They also discussed the general situation in the Middle East, including the situation in Yemen.

The both sides expressed interest in further development of the Russian-Iranian cooperation, extending the mutually profitable ties in the trade and economic fields.
