During the passing week, Ukraine’s armed forces shelled the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPP) for 14,500 times killing 18 militiamen and 6 civilians, Eduard Basurin, Deputy Commander of the Army of the Donetsk People’s Republic, said today, on February 3.
Another 34 civilians and 26 militiamen were wounded. Ukraine’s Armed Forces used Uragan and Grad multiple rocket launchers, artillery, tanks and mortars destroying 188 houses and social facilities.
According to Basurin, since January 29, Ukraine has attacked DPR for 10 times suffering 230 casualties.
As EADaily reported earlier, Ukraine’s security forces have intensified shelling of residential quarters and militia positions since January 29 making the situation in Donbass tense again. Bombardments were especially heavy overnight: artillery targeted the entire territory of Donetsk killing 2 and wounding 13 people. Russia’s Investigation Committee initiated a criminal case over deaths of civilians in Donetsk.
