Ukraine will secretly cooperate with “particular countries” in military sphere, says the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s decree enacting a relevant decision by the National Security and Defense Council.
The text of the decree is available on Poroshenko’s website.
It rules to enact the Aug 28 decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine "On Ukraine’s Military and Technical Cooperation with Particular Countries” and instructs Secretary of the Council Oleksandr Turchynov to oversee its implementation.
As EADaily reported earlier, Ukraine’s Supreme Rada has approved a law denouncing the agreement on military and technical cooperation between Ukraine and Russia and Poroshenko has ratified it. The Ukrainian MPs have also denounced the Ukrainian-Russian agreement on transit of Russian military units temporarily deployed in Moldova through the Ukrainian territory and on cooperation in the field of military intelligence.
In July, Poroshenko met with a US Congress delegation led by Peter Roskam. During the meeting, he stressed the need to deepen Ukraine’s military-technical cooperation with the United States. On July 1, the Supreme Rada ratified a cooperation agreement with NATO.
