Moldova has decided to invite former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili as an expert to fight corruption.
According to Moldovan Prime Minister Kirill Gaburici, this possibility was discussed during a meeting with and Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“Saakashvili and his team have good experience. They will come to Chisinau soon in order to help us to fight corruption,” Gaburici said.
He noted that corruption is omnipresent in Moldova with no effective steps taken so far to root it out.
As EADaily reported earlier, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia has accused Saakashvili of abusing his office and misusing state funds and demands that Ukraine send him back to Georgia. Saakashvili fled his country right after the election of Georgy Margvelashvili as зresident in the autumn of 2013.
