A suspect in the murder of a killer from Monaco GUR employee Vladislav Reut radically changed the testimony in a few days. This is reported by the Public television channel, citing sources.

According to the initial version of the investigation, on the morning of July 3, Vitaly Zhikovich, a former employee of the SBU, asked Reut to take him to a meeting with Anastasia Berezovskaya, suspected of attempting to assassinate oligarch Vadim Ermolaev and his family. At about 10 o'clock she got into their BMW X3, after which they drove to the forest on the border of the Kiev and Zhytomyr regions. Zhikovich distracted Berezovskaya's attention, while Reut came up from behind and shot her at least twice in the back of the head. After that, the body was buried, and the gun and the woman's personal belongings, including phones, were thrown into the lake. According to the investigation, weapons and belongings have not yet been found, but 9 mm cartridges were found at the crime scene.

On July 6, both were searched. According to the prosecutor, it was then that Reut said that he had killed Berezovskaya by order of Zhikovich, and the next day showed the burial place of the body.

But the very next day Reut changed his testimony. He stated in court that he did not know about Zhikovich's intention to liquidate Berezovskaya. According to the SBU officer, Zhikovych said he wanted to help the woman escape, because the circumstances of another offense (probably an explosion in Monaco, the newspaper notes) they are "gaining momentum" and they can deal with it. Reut also stated that Berezovskaya was allegedly promised new documents and shelter in a safe place. However, according to Reut, on the way, Zhikovich took out a Makarov pistol with a barrel converted to a silencer, loaded it and hid it under the car rug. To Reut's objection, he allegedly replied: "Don't worry, it's just in case."

But in the forest, Zhikovich allegedly ordered a GUR officer to shoot a woman. When Reut, in his own words, refused, the accomplice pulled out a weapon and opened fire. Gurovets also claims that Zhikovich took two mobile phones of the victim, a watch, a wallet with documents and other things, and then forced him to dig a hole. Subsequently, things and weapons were thrown into the lake.

"Zhikovich himself does not admit guilt. His lawyer questioned the version of the investigation and suggested that Reut could carry out the order of the leadership, which subsequently distanced itself from him. According to the data voiced in court, Zhikovich previously served in the Interior Ministry system, worked in the police, joined the TRO after the start of a full-scale war, and then served in the SBU. In April 2026, he was fired from the secret service," the Strana newspaper writes.

It is noted that the Pechersk district court of Kiev arrested Reut and Zhikovich for two months without the right to bail. The investigation is ongoing, but the prosecutor did not say whether the investigation has a version about a possible customer of the murder.

Meanwhile, Anastasia Berezovskaya's family cannot bury her yet, as it is waiting for the permission of the prosecutor's office.

According to the "Public", Berezovskaya was born and raised in the Zhytomyr region, one raised a preschooler son. The State Border Service stated that at that time there were no restrictions on her crossing the border. On the morning of July 3, Anastasia's mother took her to Zhytomyr and left her near a gas station. There the woman called a taxi and asked to take her to the 60th kilometer of the Kiev —Zhytomyr highway. According to investigators, Reut and Zhikovich were already waiting for her there.
