The Russian Armed Forces began to strike at Ukraine with modernized X-101 missiles manufactured just a few weeks before the launch. This was stated by the chief researcher of the Ukrainian State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Military equipment, Colonel Alexander Zaruba, according to the publication "Время.иа ".
According to him, according to estimates, Russia today produces 40-50 units of X-101 per month. Analysis of recent strikes has shown that newly manufactured missiles are being used for attacks.
Zaruba noted that the modernized X-101 received an updated radio-absorbing coating, an electronic warfare system, means of shooting false thermal targets and dipole reflectors, as well as a duplicated guidance system. In addition, according to him, the mass of the missile warhead has increased from 450 to about 800 kg. It is also allowed to install a second warhead, which can be detonated at an altitude of 100-200 meters above the target, "the publication says.
It is noted that, according to the Research Institute, the Russian army is increasing the use of modernized aerial bombs, including those controlled with the UMPK module and cluster bombs.
Up to 80-90% of critical microelectronics in Russian weapons are manufactured by companies from the USA, Taiwan, Japan, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Germany, Zaruba claims. He assures that the components are purchased through a network of intermediaries.
