The performer of the hit "The Third of September" noted that he had never driven a car after his wedding with his wife Svetlana Urazova, who is almost 30 years younger than him. For a while he trusted his wife to manage his sports car, but then hired a personal driver.
The artist explained the reason simply: "It's dangerous. I'm not enough left, I need to be protected."
In September 2025, it was reported that Shufutinsky received Russian citizenship. According to the Telegram channel Shot, before that the singer lived in the country on a residence permit, remaining a US citizen. But after the start of SMO, he decided not to return to the States and stayed in Moscow.
