The forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) struck an American airbase in response to a night attack by the United States on an Iranian military facility.
The relevant information was published on Thursday morning, May 28 by the Iranian state television company IRIB. It is specified that an object near the Bandar Abbas airport was subjected to an American attack.
"After the aggression this morning by the US military on an object near Bandar Abbas airport using aviation shells, the American airbase, which served as the source of this, was attacked," the IRGC said in a statement.
The Iranian Tasnim agency, for its part, reports that the strikes were carried out at 04:50 (04:20 Moscow time), while the location of the attacked American airbase is not specified.
However, a number of American media reported that last night the American air defense forces repelled missile and unmanned attacks in Kuwait, where US military facilities, including an air base, are located.
Earlier, EADaily reported that, according to Reuters, the United States attacked a military facility in Iran, citing this as a threat to its troops and shipping in The Strait of Hormuz.
