Large technology companies are investing hundreds of billions in data centers for AI, but rural America is paying for it with ecology, the author of the channel writes. Chips last only 3-6 years, after which they are sent to the landfill.

It is noted that 67% of new data centers are being built on former farmland. More than 100 communities in 12 states tried to block their construction.

"Electricity tariffs in the United States have increased by 32% in five years. This model requires endless construction and replacement, and rural America is paying the price," the publication says.
