The attitude of the US authorities to the celebration of Victory Day after the arrival of the Donald Trump administration in the White House has changed dramatically.

This opinion was expressed to RIA Novosti by the Russian Ambassador to Alexander Darchiev in Washington. According to him, in the last two years, actions "Immortal Regiment" have been held in the center of the American capital.

"The attitude of the administration representatives towards the holiday has changed and changed dramatically, I noted this," said the head of the Russian diplomatic mission.

He expressed his conviction that the holiday contributes to the restoration of normal relations between the two countries. This is evidenced by the fact that today representatives of the White House and the US State Department attended a reception on the occasion of Victory Day at the Russian embassy.

Last Saturday, the Immortal Regiment action was also held in Washington. About a hundred people took part in it, including both Russians and Americans.

Earlier, EADaily reported that in Russia's "Immortal Regiment" will be held in an online format. This was confirmed yesterday by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.
