Friedrich Merz could not answer the question of what good he had done for Germany. Frankfurter Rundschau writes about this.
The incident occurred during a press conference with the participation of the Chancellor.
Friedrich Merz was read a question from a reader of one of the local newspapers: "What has become better for German citizens since you became chancellor?".
As soon as the question was asked, laughter rose in the audience.
The Chancellor could not give a direct answer. He only remarked that "it's too early to sum up the results," and again got under the wave of audience laughter.
According to Frankfurter Rundschau and INSA polls, Friedrich Merz is considered the most unpopular chancellor of Germany since 1946. Only 30% of Germans are satisfied with his work, while 59% are critical of him.
