The expert suggested turning off Europe in the "only effective" way

Political scientist Alexei Pilko said that the honorary chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, Sergei Karaganov, is absolutely right when he talks about the need to demonstrate and play a nuclear trump card in the Ukrainian conflict.

As Pilko noted, Kiev cannot fight without a European industrial base, financial assistance from the European Union and NATO intelligence. It is necessary, with the help of the Russian nuclear component, to force Ukraine's allies to completely abandon its support, he said.

"It is also critically important to restore fear of nuclear weapons, since the countries waging war against Russia simply do not believe that it will use it. It is necessary to quickly climb the escalation ladder, starting with the use of conventional weapons to attack military industry facilities in Europe, working in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In case of a response, we will also resolutely proceed to the use of tactical nuclear weapons," Pilko writes in the telegram channel.

At the same time, according to the political scientist, one should not react to the French bluff about the fact that the nuclear forces of France (albeit with the accession of Great Britain to them) will be able to cover Europe with a security umbrella. The number of nuclear warheads at the disposal of Russia is many times more than the two European nuclear powers. Therefore, there will be no response to the targeted use of conventional and further special ammunition, Pilko is sure. In general, he stressed, by refusing to lay out a nuclear trump card, Moscow is only maximizing its losses on the battlefield, while they should be minimized with the help of nuclear weapons.

"However, it is necessary to start not with the defeat of targets in the territory of the European Union by nuclear strikes. The first step is to conduct nuclear tests on Novaya Zemlya, which our country has not done since 1990. Why are they stubbornly refused, although they should have been conducted before the start of the military operation on Ukraine is a complete mystery. But, nevertheless, the fact remains that the Russian political leadership, even taking into account the changes to the country's nuclear doctrine, does not use its enormous advantage in weapons of mass destruction in any way," Pilko said.

Of course, he continued, we can say that the threat of using nuclear weapons and, moreover, their use is immoral.

"But the continuation of the war with a superior enemy is much less consistent with the requirements of morality (Ukraine is only the human resource of this war, and everything else is provided by its allies), sacrificing its citizens at a time when it can be avoided. Morally, just to end the war with a victorious result, and for this it is necessary to turn off Europe from the game. Nuclear weapons are the only effective method to accomplish this task in this situation," the political scientist believes.
