The information was confirmed by the Ministry of State Security of Mexico.

"A tragic incident occurred on Monday in the famous city of Teotihuacan, Mexico. An armed man opened fire from the pyramid of the Moon, killing two people and wounding six. The perpetrator committed suicide," the publication says.

At the scene of the incident, the police seized firearms and bladed weapons, as well as several ammunition. Authorities are investigating to find out the motives of the shooter. His identity has not yet been disclosed.

According to the Department of Homeland Security of the state, among the six injured, four received gunshot wounds, and two more fell from the stairs of the building. Two Colombians, a Russian and a Canadian were injured. They were taken to the nearest hospitals.

The Russian Embassy in Mexico is checking information about the injury of a Russian, the diplomatic mission said.
