Private detectives began to be involved in identifying illegal offices — they record illegal procedures, money collection and lack of licenses, and then hand over the evidence to the police. In a number of regions, professional associations, regional authorities and law enforcement agencies are involved in the work.
In Granada, where the Association of Aesthetic Medicine cooperates with law enforcement officers, there are already real sentences. A woman who performed lip augmentation without a license and medical education received a prison sentence.
The network of clandestine clinics in Catalonia, Valencia and Alicante. More than 1,200 bottles of Botox and hundreds of syringes with hyaluronic acid were seized. According to the police, the procedures were carried out by people without qualifications, at home and through social networks.
The investigation found that the drugs were imported from abroad, including from China, and were distributed outside the control of the EU .
Such procedures can lead to infections, complications and irreversible consequences. At the same time, the demand for cheap services remains high.
