Nothing sacred: Iran has started accepting fees for passage through Hormuz in yuan

Iran accepts payments in yuan for the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. This poses a threat to the dollar, said US Senator Lindsey Graham in a comment to Fox News.

"As for the Strait of Hormuz, now they — the IRGC, the Iranians — charge ships for passage through the straits, and they accept yuan, not dollars. One of the threats of this whole mess is that if we start allowing oil to be traded in Chinese currency, it will hit the dollar. Since 1974, every barrel of oil sold and exchanged in the world has been traded in dollars. What are the Iranians trying to do? They are trying to change the currency from the dollar to the Chinese yuan, and this is an attack on the dollar. And this, too, must stop," Graham said.

It should be noted that it was Lindsey Graham who was one of the main supporters of the US war with Iran.
