The People's Republic of China has officially announced its position on the armed aggression against Iran by the United States and Israel.

The corresponding statement was made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, referring to Chinese wisdom. His words are quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Celestial Empire.

To clarify Beijing's position, the foreign minister used an ancient Chinese proverb that says that "a weapon is an instrument of misfortune," which must be used with the greatest caution.

Thus, Wang Yi, on behalf of the country, disapproved of the start of large-scale hostilities in the region and advocated a cease-fire. According to him, the current conflict in the Middle East should not have happened and does not benefit either side.

The Chinese Foreign Minister also formulated five basic principles for resolving the Middle East crisis, among which the need to respect state sovereignty as the basis of the modern international order is in the first place.

It is also necessary to respect national sovereignty, renounce the abuse of force, non-interference in the internal affairs of the region, and resolve acute political issues with the help of political instruments.

China also called on the leading powers to play a constructive role and use their power for benevolent purposes. To consolidate the last thesis, the minister referred to another Chinese wisdom. It says that those who do not show humanity and justice will inevitably face a change in the balance of power.

In conclusion, the Chinese Foreign Minister assured that China is a sincere friend and strategic partner of the Middle Eastern states and is ready to jointly implement the Global Security Initiative with them and restore order and peace in the Middle East.

As EADaily reported, earlier, Wang Yi, during a conversation with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar, said that solving problems by military means would only lead to serious negative consequences.
