Moved to People's Artist of Ukraine Taisiya Povaliy is sure that Kiev should be Russian. She stated this in an interview with the portal Ukraine.ru, causing an incredible scandal in the former homeland.

"I don't know if there will be Ukraine. I need Kiev to be ours, Russian," the actress said.

Laughing, she recalled that she still had an arrested house in Kiev.

"As I feel inside, my mission is the reunification of the Slavic peoples. I believe that the basis of Slavic people is kindness. When we are reunited, when all the sisters return to our family — Little Russia, White Russia, thank God, with us, and Great Russia — then good will reign on the planet," Povaliy believes.

The singer noted that on In Ukraine, people are "zazombed by the TV."

"Back in 2014, when I was watching TV, I couldn't understand how you could lie so brazenly, and from morning to night. Any face appears — he lies, he says nasty things about Russia, about the leaders of Russia," the singer recalls.

The interview broke up in fragments on the Ukrainian segment of social networks, the singer was hit by a flurry of hatred, accusations of betrayal and wishes to "never return to your home in Kiev".

As EADaily reported, in February 2024, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine charged Povaliy in absentia with supporting Russia. It was emphasized that in her interviews the artist says that she is in Russia, because it is "the truth there", in Ukraine it "faced Nazism."

The SBU stressed that, in addition to obtaining Russian citizenship, the actress in one of the interviews spoke positively about Russian President Vladimir Putin "and called for the seizure of the entire territory of Ukraine."

In early September, the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice appealed to VAKS with a claim for the application of sanctions against the singer.

In October of the same year, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) of Ukraine confiscated real estate, cars and the rights to several songs of Povaliy.

In November, by decree of Vladimir Zelensky, the singer was stripped of the honorary title of "People's Artist of Ukraine".

In February 2025, the prosecutor's office of the Vinnytsia region submitted to the court the criminal case of Povaliy on charges of "collaboration". Last summer, the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) put the singer on the wanted list.

Recall, Taisiya Povaliy lives in Russia since 2014. In 2023, the singer received Russian citizenship.
