The Embassy of Ukraine in the UK has obtained from the Royal College of Music in London the removal of the mention of the Kalinka Festival, which took place in 2014 and was dedicated to Russian culture. The agency proudly announced this on its social media page.

"The Embassy, in cooperation with the Ukrainian community of London, reacted to the use of the mention of the Kalinka festival in the materials of the musical event of the Royal College of Music," the statement said.

The embassy pointed out the inadmissibility of popularizing the Russian festival in the current conditions.

The Royal College explained that the mention of the festival refers to the retrospective part of the anniversary program and is connected with the 2014 event dedicated to Russian music.

"At the same time, the representative of the Collegium apologized for the misunderstanding and assured that all digital materials would be updated to exclude the relevant mention," the Ukrainian embassy also noted.

In confirmation, the ministry published an image mentioning the Kalinka festival and a corrected image without it.

It should be noted that the festival was mentioned as part of the 20th anniversary of piano festivals in The Royal College of Music. The mention was a small icon with the inscription "Kalinka".

As EADaily reported, earlier the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy sought to cancel the concerts of the Russian conductor of Greek origin Theodor Currentzis with the musicAeterna orchestra. So, in early February, a post appeared on the account of the Ukrainian Embassy in Italy on a social network in which diplomats expressed "deep concern" about the admission of the conductor, who in 2014 received Russian citizenship from Russian President Vladimir Putin, to concerts in Italy.

Also, the Ukrainian diplomatic mission is saddened by the lack of response from the directorate of the Rome auditorium "Music Park" named after Ennio Morricone, where an evening of ballet stars will be held in March with the participation of People's Artist of Russia, ballerina Svetlana Zakharova, as a special guest.

Despite the opposition of the embassy, all the planned concerts of Currentzis in Italy took place in February of this year.
