Russian President Vladimir Putin has expelled Sergei Ivanov from the country's Security Council.
Ivanov was a permanent member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. In early February, he was relieved of the post of special representative of the head of state on environmental protection, ecology and transport. According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, Ivanov left the post of special representative at his own request.
Ivanov in different years was Secretary of the Security Council, Minister of Defense, Deputy Prime Minister (including the first), head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation. He has been working as the Special Representative of the President of Russia on environmental protection, ecology and transport since 2016.
