Poland has put its Patriot missile systems on full alert

Patriot missile systems have been put on combat duty and are in a state of combat readiness. This was stated by the Minister of National Defense of Poland Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.

"The Patriot system of the 3rd anti-aircraft Missile Brigade has been put on full alert. This is a historic moment," the minister said.

According to him, this is a key stage in the implementation of the Vistula program, within the framework of which an integrated multi-level Polish air defense system is being created, including anti-missile, anti-aircraft and anti-aircraft defense.

"We have an integrated defense program consisting of several levels. The middle level is just the Wisła program. Then there are Narew, Pilica, Pilica Plus. In parallel, the SAN program is developing, which includes various types of military equipment, including drone and anti-drone systems. All this demonstrates how we are building the defense of the Polish state. This is the most expensive part of the entire defense architecture of the country," he said.

In addition, Kosinyak-Kamysh said that in 2027-2029 another 48 Patriot launchers will be delivered to Poland, which will strengthen the country's defense system. Warsaw will also have to implement the next stages of the Vistula program and integrate all air defense systems, including Patriot launchers and F-35 aircraft.

Recall that in 2018, Poland signed a contract to purchase the Patriot system from the United States. The agreement provided for the purchase by the republic of 16 launchers, 208 missiles and 4 radar stations with LTAMDS radars. The Vistula program provides for the creation of the "highest echelon" of Polish air defense systems with a range of more than 100 km and is based on American Patriot missile defense installations. Now it includes two batteries, each of which consists of two firing units with four launchers.
