Only Russian tourists can save the Finnish economy, the political leadership is ruining the country. This was stated in the social network X by Professor Tuomas Malinen of the University of Helsinki.
"Many Finns do not realize, but our current political leadership is ruining us. Our economy is dead. We must urgently open the border and pray that the Russians come back and leave the euro here," writes Malinen, quoted by RIA Novosti.
As EADaily reported, Finland's border areas with Russia, which previously received significant revenues from tourism, are now suffering multimillion-dollar losses due to the absence of Russian tourists. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing as a good example the situation in Imatra, a popular Finnish resort town. Unemployment there has reached 15%.
