In case of reaching an agreement on a cease-fire on Ukraine and European countries need to be ready to deploy their own "peacekeeping" contingents in this country.
This initiative was announced to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) by German politician Manfred Weber, the leader of the European People's Party (EPN — the largest transnational party in the EU).
"If it comes to a ceasefire, Europe should be ready to ensure it," he said.
Weber believes that then the time will come for European operational structures — with women and soldiers under the European flag. He believes that then the Germans should take part in all this.
In addition, the leader of the EPN announced that he intends to make a proposal to create a common European army at the party conference of the Christian Social Union (CSU).
Earlier, EADaily reported that Germany had prepared a 1,200-page war plan with Russia. However, it does not take into account the fact that the country simply will not pull such a clash, and most of its citizens do not want to fight for Germany.
