The VTsIOM report talks about the possibility of the disappearance of hundreds of Russian cities in the near future. According to TASS, we are talking about small settlements suffering a massive outflow of population.
Such cities are very likely to disappear very soon, as new residents do not come to them.
"The effect of declining cities cannot be explained by one reason — for example, the desire to find a better job and build a career in a big city," the report says.
In such settlements, the researchers specify, most often there is no career growth and the necessary infrastructure solutions.
