Analysts have studied the activities of financial institutions in China over the past 25 years. And it turned out that the most frequent borrower of the Chinese is the United States, as reported by The Washington Post.

For a quarter of a century, Beijing has lent Washington more than $ 200 billion.

The Chinese are investing in a wide variety of industries in the United States — from gas pipelines to airport terminals. Analysts also clarified that China's financial institutions in 2000-2023 supported a total of 2,500 projects in all US states.

In total, since 2000, the Chinese have issued worldwide loans and grants totaling $ 2.2 trillion. Similar US spending is twice as modest. Experts also claim that lenders from The PRC often hides its origin by providing funds through offshore companies or foreign firms in countries that are not too demanding of disclosure.
