British scientists have created a gel for the restoration and regeneration of tooth enamel, next year it will go on sale. This is reported by the BBC.
The miracle gel was created by specialists of the pharmaceutical school and the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the University of Nottingham. It is noted that the new substance is applied "easily and quickly." The first tests were successful, there are large-scale tests ahead.
"We are very excited because this technology has been developed with the needs of doctors and patients in mind. We hope to release the first sample next year, soon this innovation will be able to help patients around the world," said one of the creators.
The protein—based gel impregnates the teeth, filling all cracks and acts as a framework - strengthens and regenerates enamel, and also prevents the formation of caries.
Doctors have already called the development a real breakthrough in dentistry.
