The Poseidon underwater nuclear drone is an exceptionally powerful type of weapon capable of neutralizing entire states, it does not yet have any means of counteraction. This was announced today, October 29, by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense Andrei Kartapolov.
"This is really a very powerful type of weapon that is capable of disabling or out of war entire states. There are currently no antidotes and countermeasures against it. No one has analogues today," Kartapolov said.
Press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov also commented on the information about the successful tests of Poseidon, which Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced the day before.
"These are absolutely new technologies, this is a new step from the point of view of ensuring the security of our country, and also, from a perspective, these are absolutely new breakthrough technologies that can be used already in the economy of our country for peaceful purposes. This, in fact, is such a double effect of these successful tests," Peskov said.
He also stressed that the tests of advanced weapons of the Russian Federation are carried out in accordance with all international rules and bilateral agreements, in compliance with the notification rules.
