"Russia has not had and has no intentions of attacking France or any other EU country either now, or in 3-4 years, or subsequently. Perhaps General Mandon himself is making such plans, but then he openly admitted who the warmonger really is," the text of the embassy's comment on his Telegram channel says.
Perhaps Mandon's statement about the "Russian threat" was caused by the consideration of the new French budget for 2026. The Russian embassy suggested that in this way, the general "is demanding more and more money for military spending against the background of attempts to save, first of all, on the social sphere and the incomes of ordinary citizens."
