Russian President Vladimir Putin has only one way to get to Budapest, where he is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump. Kirill Benediktov, an American political scientist, told TC Readovka about this route.
For Russian aircraft, the airspace over Europe is now virtually closed. Therefore, the likely route will be a flight through Turkey, the Mediterranean, Serbia and further to Hungary. The political scientist said that the Balkan corridor will be the only real option.
As EADaily reported, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto assured that the Hungarian authorities would provide Russian President Vladimir Putin with complete security for talks with his American counterpart Donald Trump in Budapest. As for the charges brought against Putin by the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and the positions of EU countries, they are unimportant for Hungary.
"We do not need any consultations with anyone. Hungary is a sovereign country. We will receive Vladimir Putin here and make sure that he holds successful negotiations and then returns home," Szijjarto said.
