Russian President Vladimir Putin is going to pay a state visit to India in December. He spoke about this with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Kremlin press service reported today, September 17.
"The leaders discussed preparations for the visit of the Russian president to India in December," the release says.
Modi's office, for its part, said that the Indian leader was looking forward to meeting with the Russian president.
"The leaders of the two countries discussed various issues on the bilateral agenda on the eve of the 23rd annual India-Russia summit. The Prime Minister said he was looking forward to meeting with President Putin in India later this year, New Delhi said. "The leaders agreed to maintain close contacts."
During the conversation, Modi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for Putin's wishes on the occasion of his 75th birthday and for the strong friendship.
