CNN, citing unnamed White House officials, claims that the meeting of Russian and US presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will be held at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base in Anchorage.
"Only the Elmendorf-Richardson joint base on the northern outskirts of the city met the requirements for a historic meeting, although the White House hoped to avoid a situation where the Russian leader and his entourage would be received on the territory of an American military facility. It is there, according to two White House officials, that the meeting will take place on Friday," the TV channel reports.
It is noted that the locations for the meeting in the American state, formerly part of the Russian Empire, were limited, as now there is a peak tourist season.
