There are no simple solutions to complex issues, but China will continue its efforts to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. This was announced today, August 8, by Chinese President Xi Jinping during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, China Central Television reports.
"There are no simple solutions to complex issues. Regardless of the development of the situation, China will adhere to its unchanged position and continue to promote peace and negotiations," the TV channel quoted the Chinese leader as saying.
At the same time, both leaders positively assessed the high level of political mutual trust and cooperation between the countries and stated that they would jointly prepare for the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Tianjin, "providing a friendly, cohesive atmosphere, as well as contributing to the qualitative development of the SCO."
