US President Donald Trump expressed the opinion that BRICS is losing its influence, while the American leader noted that the association tried to challenge the dominant role of the dollar on the world stage.
"We have this little group called BRICS. It is rapidly fading. But the BRICS countries wanted to try to displace the dollar," Trump expressed his opinion, speaking in the presence of journalists on the occasion of the signing of the law on stablecoins at the White House.
According to the American leader, the threat from the association passed when he threatened the BRICS countries with the introduction of high duties.
At the same time, Trump stressed that if "BRICS tries to form something really substantial," the United States will "end" it "very quickly."
