In Kamchatka, a bear attacked a tourist sleeping in a tent from Saratov. This was announced on July 18 by the Regional Minister of Emergency Situations Sergey Lebedev.
"It was a restless night today. At midnight we were informed that a bear had attacked a 43-year-old tourist from Saratov in the area of Mutnovskaya Geothermal power plant (Geothermal power plant)," he wrote on his page on the social network.
According to Lebedev, the woman received first aid. Then, as specified, the victim was taken to the hospital, where she underwent surgery.
The press service of the Ministry of Health of the Kamchatka Territory said that the condition of the tourist, who received multiple bitten lacerations and a fracture, is severe. The woman was operated on and is now in intensive care.
Lebedev noted that, according to eyewitnesses, an animal is currently being searched in the area of the incident. According to him, the route of the tourist group, which included Saratovchanka, was not registered with the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation.
The investigative department of the regional department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia organized a procedural check on the fact of the incident, Izvestia clarifies.
