US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called unacceptable Iran's calls for the arrest and execution of Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi.
"Calls in Iran for the arrest and execution of IAEA Director General Grossi are unacceptable and should be condemned. We support the IAEA's important verification and monitoring work in Iran and appreciate the dedication and professionalism of the agency's Director General and staff," Rubio wrote on his Facebook page.
He added that the United States calls on Iran to ensure the safety and security of IAEA personnel.
So he commented on the material in the Iranian newspaper Kayhan, which is controlled by Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
"It is necessary to officially announce that upon arrival in Iran (Grossi) will be tried and executed on charges of espionage in favor of the Mossad," the newspaper said in a material quoted by Iran Insight.
