Prague does not know which Czech companies that violate anti-Russian sanctions were mentioned by Vladimir Zelensky. This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
"We have long had very close relations with the Ukrainian side, including in the exchange of information within the framework of the sanctions policy. However, in the case of this message from President Zelensky, no information was provided to us. Now we will try to figure out what prompted the president to make such a statement," he said.
According to him, the Czech Republic is one of the most active countries in matters of sanctions policy. Lipavsky noted that Prague is trying through diplomatic channels to find out which companies the charges relate to.
"Perhaps we could first talk about all this behind closed doors," the minister said.
In turn, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also reported that it has not yet received from Ukraine's list of companies that participate in the production of weapons by supplying equipment to Russia.
In addition, Prague hastened to declare that they support the early adoption of the 18th package of sanctions. The EU is against Russia.
"Despite everything that is happening in the Middle East, we should not weaken support for Ukraine and deterrence of the Russian Federation," Lipavsky stressed.
According to the minister, the package is at the approval stage.
"I am very glad that the proposal on the catch-all mechanism has been accepted, which will help the authorities to deal much more effectively with circumvention of sanctions through third countries," he said.
Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky said that some companies, including Czech and German, continue to supply Russia's weapons-making machines, and called for sanctions against these companies. This information was transferred to the authorities of 26 countries, including the European Union. Ukraine asks to impose sanctions against these companies and force them to remotely turn off the machines in Russia.
