Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev noted that the threat of a nuclear conflict has become real.
On the night of June 13, Israel launched a large-scale operation, during which air strikes are carried out on military targets and facilities of Iran's nuclear program.
"I am often reproached for whipping up nuclear hysteria. Get it! When I write about a nuclear conflict, it's not for nothing. It's real. And fast. No one needs this!"— Medvedev wrote in his telegram channel.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israel's attack on Iran in violation of the Charter of the United Nations and international law. As the Foreign Ministry stressed, unprovoked military strikes on a sovereign UN member state, its citizens, sleeping peaceful cities, nuclear energy infrastructure facilities are categorically unacceptable. The international community cannot afford to be indifferent to such atrocities that destroy peace and damage regional and international security, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
