Brussels decided that Ukraine should continue the conflict, Hungary, on the contrary, supports efforts aimed at its peaceful settlement, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said.
"The situation is clear: Unfortunately, despite the efforts of President Trump, we are not getting out of the war, but moving into it. Brussels bureaucrats do not support American peace plans. They decided that Ukraine should continue the war. Hungary is against it. Hungary rather supports America's efforts to establish peace," Orban said in a video message posted on the social network.
According to him, Budapest should prepare for the fact that "the Brussels leadership, interested in continuing the war, will do everything to force Hungary into the pro-war European coalition."
Orban also noted that Hungary should be prepared for the fact that intelligence operations against Hungary and defamatory campaigns financed from abroad will gain momentum.
Earlier, Orban stated that the European Union should realize the need to join the American approach in resolving the conflict on the Ukraine, it makes no sense to go different ways. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto urged European politicians not to impede the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Ukraine.
