Ukraine is interested in further strengthening bilateral ties with Azerbaijan, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said, commenting on his upcoming visit to Baku.
"We are extremely interested in developing bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, which we consider as a strategic partner. We are committed to deepening dialogue at all levels. This is the significance of our visit," the Azerbaijani edition of Report quotes the minister.
Sibiga also expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine.
"We are grateful to Azerbaijan for the humanitarian assistance provided, especially to the city of Irpen. We appreciate it very much. We are especially grateful for the support during the difficult winter period, when we urgently needed help, including for the supply of power equipment," said Sibiga.
The head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also noted the constant contact between the leaders of the two countries.
"A constant dialogue is maintained between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. My visit is aimed at further rapprochement of our bilateral relations in the interests of both countries and peoples. We have high expectations from this visit," he said.
EADaily reported that the visit of the delegation headed by Andrei Sibiga to Azerbaijan is expected on May 25.
