A decision has been made to create a security buffer zone along the border, and the Russian military is solving this task. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at an operational meeting with members of the government.
"I have already said that it was decided to create the necessary security buffer zone along the borders. Our Armed Forces are now solving this problem. Enemy firing points are being actively suppressed, work is underway," Putin said.
According to Putin, the Ukrainian Armed Forces choose targets of no military significance for shelling in the border area. During drone attacks and sabotage groups, they "hunt" for civilian vehicles, including ambulances.
Putin called the methods used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and foreign mercenaries terrorist. The Head of State noted that our military is actively suppressing enemy firing points.
Residents of the Kursk region and other border areas need additional support, he stressed.
"Residents of the Kursk region and our other border regions in the immediate vicinity of the line of contact need additional support now — these are the Belgorod, Bryansk regions ... this, of course, is the restoration of housing, social, transport facilities, it is the payment of compensation for lost property, it is the support of displaced persons, those who were forced to leave their home and now he lives in temporary accommodation facilities, with relatives or rents housing," Putin said.
A separate topic is the demining of the territory where the fighting took place, the elimination of unexploded shells, mines, weapons caches left by the militants.
The President instructed to prepare a comprehensive program for the restoration of areas affected by the actions of the Armed Forces of the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions. He also instructed the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and other departments to join the work on the restoration of the border areas affected by the fighting.
