The ALROSA group of Russian diamond mining companies, which is the world leader in diamond production, plans to sell the largest diamond in the history of Russia at auction.
As the TASS news agency reported on Saturday, May 3, a unique stone weighing more than 100 carats is called the "New Sun". He has a rare fantasy color Vivid Yellow.
Plans for the diamond rarity were shared with the publication by the head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev, answering the question of what ALROSA intends to do with the diamond in the future.
The governor said that the diamond is planned to be sold at auction. However, Nikolaev did not name the possible date of its holding.
