A multi-storey building collapsed in Bangkok. There is no information about the victims yet.

The Russian Embassy in Thailand is clarifying the situation regarding possible injured citizens as a result of the earthquake. This was announced by the head of the consular department of the Russian diplomatic mission Ilya Ilyin.

"We are investigating the situation regarding possible injured citizens as a result of the earthquake in Thailand. In Bangkok, strong tremors were felt on the territory of the embassy," the agency quoted the diplomat as saying.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department of Thailand, after a powerful earthquake in Myanmar, warned of the risk of aftershocks in the near future. The department urged to exercise caution and stay outside.

Thai Prime Minister Phettongan Shinawatra interrupted a working event in Phuket province to hold an emergency meeting in connection with the earthquake in Myanmar, after which tremors caused destruction in Bangkok.

"During an inspection in Phuket Province, the Prime Minister received a message about the earthquake and ordered to interrupt the meeting to discuss the incident," the Thai government said in a statement.

It is reported that the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and the futures exchange TFEX suspended trading.
