Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov called the results of the study "The image of Russia and the CIS in the representation of the youth of Abkhazia" quite logical. Dzhabarov also noted that Russia helps residents of Abkhazia to gain access to certain opportunities.

"If we are talking about young people, then this is education, participation in cultural projects, exchange programs, etc. Most of the population of Abkhazia has Russian passports and, accordingly, dual citizenship. And the same European Union, for example, decided not to recognize Russian passports issued on the territory of Abkhazia and South Ossetia," he stressed.

According to the study, the results of which were published on March 5, 87% of young people surveyed in Abkhazia are interested in cooperation with BRICS, 86% with the CIS.
