The war on Ukraine went in the wrong direction and could lead to World War III. This was announced by US President Donald Trump at a joint briefing for journalists at the White House with the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
"We are all waiting for a quick end to this war… We are not talking about security guarantees," he stressed, adding that Zelensky would have to make compromises.
"Russia will not return, and no one will return" to resume the war in Ukraine, the US president noted.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in turn, spoke out against a cease-fire and a truce.
"We will never accept only a ceasefire. Russia will violate it," Zelensky said.
He also said that Russian President Vladimir Putin "must pay for the restoration of Ukraine."
Meanwhile, Trump was asked if he was "an intermediary between Ukraine and Russia or... on the side of Ukraine."
"I am between Russia and Ukraine. I don't want to say bad words about anyone," Trump replied, quoted by Strana.
As EADaily reported, the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, arrived at the White House. US President Donald Trump met him on the doorstep.
