Ukraine, as a result of the military conflict, was thrown back 100 years, its energy system was severely damaged, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.
"Ukraine has been thrown back 100 years; its energy system has been destroyed... and how many Ukrainians have left Ukraine and now live in other countries? They may never come back," Rubio said on journalist Megyn Kelly's show.
He reiterated his call to end the conflict on Ukraine also expressed the opinion that each side will have to sacrifice something for the sake of its completion during the negotiations.
Rubio also noted that many countries unfriendly to the United States over the past four years, when the country was ruled by the previous president Joe Biden, have only become stronger, including Russia.
"If you look at the world, I would say that in many cases our opponents are stronger than ever and have become stronger over the past four years. Of course, Russia does not consider itself weaker than it was four years ago. Now they control the territory that they did not have when Donald Trump left office (in 2021, after the first presidential term)," the US Secretary of State said.
