If Donald Trump had been re-elected president of the United States in 2020, then the crisis on Ukraine could have been avoided. This was announced today, January 24, by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a blitz interview with Pavel Zarubin.
He said that he and the American leader Donald Trump have always had businesslike, pragmatic relations. Therefore, Putin agreed with Trump's statement that if he remained president, the crisis could have been resolved without a military operation on Ukraine.
According to Putin, Russia is ready for negotiations on the Ukrainian issue, but there are issues that require attention. In addition, it is difficult to talk seriously about negotiations in conditions of a ban from Ukraine — Zelensky himself forbade them to himself. Therefore, the sponsors of the Kiev regime should force Zelensky to lift the ban on negotiations. At the same time, the motives are clear — "mode b Kiev receives hundreds of billions from its sponsors, hamsters on both cheeks."
As for Trump, during his first presidency he imposed a large number of sanctions against Russia, it hardly corresponded to the interests of the United States. Now Moscow sees Trump's statements about readiness to work together, "they are always open to this." And the former Biden administration refused to contact Russia, but this is not Moscow's fault.
With the current US administration at Russia may have many points of contact, including in economic issues, Putin noted.
